An award-winning combination of driver appeal, lifestyle, versatility and workhorse practicality has enabled the Mazda6 2.2 litre diesel Estate to be named 'Best Estate Car' in the 2010 Fleet World Honours.
The award completes a stunning quartet of titles for the Mazda6 Estate, which earlier this year won 'Best Estate Car' awards from both Fleet News and What Car? Magazines and was named 'Tow-car of the Year 2010' by The Caravan Club.
The Fleet World Honours are presented annually to those motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible level of excellence in their sector.
Chairman of Judges, Steve Moody said: "Mazda continues to build on its solid reputation in the fleet market as a manufacturer of stylish and attractive cars. But it also features all the clever touches we have come to expect from Mazda, converting from a five-seater into a load-lugger in a matter of seconds."
"The Mazda6's strong residual values, keen pricing and competitive CO2 emissions saw the Mazda6 Estate beat off stiff competition including the Skoda Superb Estate, Toyota Avensis Estate and Honda Accord Estate to be named 'Best Estate Car' at the 2010 Fleet World Honours Car Awards", explained David McGonigle, Managing Director Mazda Motor Ireland.
The new Mazda6 range, available in 4-door saloon, 5-door hatchback and estate has just gone on sale in Ireland.
The enhanced 2.2l diesel (129ps) engine delivers more power and more torque for greater driving performance. Fuel economy has improved by approximately 7% and lower C02 emissions drop the Mazda6 diesel into road tax Band B.
The new model continues to offer excellent interior space, while driver and passengers enjoy a more premium feeling interior. On the outside, the Mazda6 has the new, sportier family face. Front and rear headlamps with new fog lamps bezels now portray a more flowing design.
"With the improvements to the new model, we are confident the new Mazda6 will perform even better in the large family car sector. Irish customers are looking for peace of mind when investing in a new car, something which Mazda's acclaimed package of reliability, build quality and driving dynamics really delivers", continues David.
The Mazda6 is available in four enhanced specification grades: Executive, Executive SE, Sport and Z-Sport.
