Car safety features & 5 star

Euro NCAP rating

In Euro NCAP car safety ratings the Mazda3 earned the maximum five stars. That’s because we create class-leading car safety features like the six airbags we build in to front, side and curtain. There is also an Emergency Stop Signalling System that switches on your hazard lights if you suddenly brake hard. (Then it turns them off again afterwards.)

So all these active and passive car safety features mean you can relax and enjoy your drive without worrying about the safety of your passengers.

mazda3 sedan body shell

The MAIDAS protective body shell with six airbags provides high levels of passenger safety.

MAIDAS

A passive safety feature for added protection

This is the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (or MAIDAS, for short). It’s a highly rigid, reinforced body shell that protects the critical interior space of your car in case of a collision. This passive car safety feature has an excellent collision safety performance.

In line with our gram strategy of building lighter cars, we designed it using materials that are light yet strong. So MAIDAS increases your safety without decreasing your car’s dynamic performance or your driving pleasure.
