Awarded the maximum five stars in independent Euro NCAP car safety ratings, the Mazda6 provides first-class protection for you and your family. This is due to active car safety features that help to prevent collisions, and passive car safety that protects you if an accident does occur.

Active safety includes the extra-strong reinforced body shell and our Emergency Stop Signalling system, which flashes your hazard lights if you brake strongly. Passive car safety features include ISOFIX anchorage points for child car seats and six airbags to front, side and curtain.

Another award-winning car safety feature

This is a safety innovation of ours that won the coveted Euro NCAP Advanced award at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Two radar sensors on the rear corners of your car measure the speed and distance of approaching vehicles. When a vehicle enters your blind spot area, a light flashes to tell you which side they’re approaching from. Similarly, if you indicate to change lanes and a vehicle is approaching, the light flashes and a signal beeps to warn you.

MAIDAS

A passive car safety feature giving your family extra protection

This is the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (or MAIDAS, for short). It’s part of the body shell and it has shock absorbing crumple zones that spread the impact of a collision. So it protects the critical interior space of your car. This car safety feature has an excellent collision performance.

We’ve engineered this body shell from ultra-high tensile steel, a material that’s light as well as strong, so MAIDAS increases your safety and your car’s driving performance.
