Our intelligent i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies are designed so that you can enjoy total confidence in the drive ahead. By helping the driver to recognise potential hazards, avoid collisions where possible and reduce the severity of unavoidable accidents, it’s yet another way in which Mazda connects the driver with the car through our Jinba ittai philosophy.

SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT WITH TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION*

Advanced SCBS takes the stress out of city driving. Built-in sensors continually monitor distance and closing speed to obstacles in front of you, and can prime the brakes for an emergency stop if needed. The Advanced SCBS features pedestrian recognition, extended camera detection range, improved speed range operation and maximum speed at which collision avoidance is supported. Advanced SCBS also comes with Traffic Sign Recognition* which automatically detects speed limits, no entry signs and sign ends during driving (requires Active Driving Display (ADD) and optional Navigation). The Active Driving Display, as well as your Navigation** display will notify you if the speed limit has been exceeded with a visual and audible warnings.

ADAPTIVE LED HEADLIGHTS WITH HIGHWAY MODE

Mazda’s Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH) has been developed to achieve ideal night time visibility. ALH ensures enjoyable, safe and stress-free driving for both you and other road users thanks to its three unique functions: Glare-free High Beam detects the position of the vehicle ahead or an on-coming vehicle and turns off sections of the LEDs. Wide-range Low Beam ensures that the LED lights illuminate both sides of the road over a wider spread to help light up junctions and turns. Highway Mode increases visibility at a distance by raising the headlamp optical axis when driving at motorway speeds.

DRIVER ATTENTION ALERT DAA

Driver Attention Alert (DAA) is designed to detect any changes in your driving pattern caused by fatigue. It constantly monitors driving behaviour and if fatigue is detected a warning icon is displayed and audbile alert to prompt you to take a break from the road. Designed to reduce accidents caused by inattentiveness due to tiredness, the system begins to “learn” your habits at speeds above 65 km/hmonitoring the steering wheel angle and vehicle speed, combining this with information from the forward sensing camera. 

LANE KEEP ASSIST AND LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM

Lane-Keep Assist (LAS) uses the forward sensing camera to monitor the road markings at speeds above 60km/h, supporting the driver in steering the car by providing steering torque assistance and vibrating the steering wheel or sounding an alert.


Mazda's Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) detects line marking on the road surface and warns you of unintentional sways. When the lane change is accompanied by turn signal operation or acceleration, the system recognises the manoeuver as intentional and does not sound an alarm.

ADVANCED BLIND SPOT MONITORING WITH REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT

Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (ABSM w/RCTA) uses a millimetre-wave radar sensor to monitor the blind spot areas to the sides and rear of your Mazda, keeping you alert of approaching vehicles when changing lanes. The system becomes operational at speeds over 30 km/h. If you switch on a turn signal the system detects vehicles approaching from behind, it warns you with a flashing indicator in the respective door mirror and sounds an alert. The system also uses the same sensor for its RTCA function, which monitors your Mazda's surroundings when reversing, alerting you when it detects vehicles approaching from the sides.

HILL LAUNCH ASSIST HLA

Mazda's Hill Launch Assist (HLA) operates automatically when stopped on a slope to help you take off smoothly and safely. When taking off on an slope, this function maintains an automatic brake to help prevent the car from rolling backwards when you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. The automatic brake releases immediately when the accelerator is pressed to guarantee a smooth start.

MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL MRCC

Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) allows you to set the car’s speed and maintain it without using the accelerator pedal. The system uses a millimeter wave radar sensor in the vehicle’s front grille to monitor and judge the relative speed and distance to the car ahead and adjusts your speed to a safe following distance. MRCC allows you focus on enjoying the drive.
