Mazda3 performance. Expert engineering, exceptional driving experience

Mazda3 performance means outstanding engineering. It means environmental innovation and fuel economy. Above all, it means superb agility and responsiveness for the Mazda3 driver and passengers.

Tested and optimised for motorway driving, as well as hills, curves and city traffic, the Mazda3 has the road handling, the power and the engine performance to keep you in control and enjoying the ride. Technology and total commitment to delivering class-leading performance are the reason why.

For example, lighter cars improve fuel economy while offering a sportier, more agile drive. This has resulted in a tight focus on minimising the weight of the Mazda3, using materials like high-tensile steel to make precious gains. This 'gram strategy' has led to the new Mazda3 having the best-in-class weight ratio for a car of its size.

A quieter ride

Advances in aerodynamics and engineering mean a much quieter drive, too. Fluctuations in air pressure which cause in-car noise have been reduced by improving cabin rigidity. Newly designed front grille and bumpers have improved airflow around and under the Mazda3 too, also contributing to lower noise, and to better Mazda3 fuel economy.

Optimum gear shift

The new gear shift indicator on the central display unit of manual shift models provides real-time guidance on optimum gear changing. Whether you're on the motorway or in the hills, the Mazda3 combination of accurate driving information, light-touch foot pedals and instant acceleration combine for the best handling and driving experience.

A consistent performance

New design technology in the Mazda3 has enabled new levels of smoothness and consistency of performance and experience in the all-important transitions between acceleration, cornering and deceleration. Rather than relying solely on speed of response between brakes and accelerator, the Mazda3 is also all about comfort, smoothness and stability. Technical, mechanical elements deployed in the Mazda3 to ensure power and consistency include a drive control system, optimised Electro-Hydraulic Power Assist Steering (EHPAS) and fine tuning of rear and front dampers.

A Mazda3 engine to suit everyone

The engine selection also offers a balance of performance and economy. Petrol models are available in 1.6 litre engine. Diesel models are available in 1.6 litre engine. The lightweight and frugal 1.6 Diesel engine produces an impressive 115ps and CO2 emissions of just 115g/km . The engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and like all Mazda3 engines it meets the current Euro5 emissions standards.
