The Mazda5 is the only car in its segment with rear sliding doors. The two doors are light, easy to use and have obvious benefits in terms of convenience and access to the 2nd and 3rd row seats.

Innovative seating

With its Karakuri seating system, the Mazda5 Compact Multi-Activity Vehicle (C-MAV) can adapt for carrying cargo by simply folding away the 2nd or 3rd row seats to maximise space.

The lightweight tailgate opens smoothly in two stages, so it's convenient for all. There's also a concealed sub-trunk to store valuables away from prying eyes or to protect third row seatbacks from muddy items.

The Mazda5 perfectly combines luggage-carrying capability with passenger comfort. Even with seven people on board you can still fit in a folded stroller and two crates of bottled drinks. Fewer people means more room, especially with 50:50 3rd row seat split that further extends your floor options. The 3rd row seats fold flat for even more space.

There are also 45 storage spaces intuitively dotted all around the cabin. Cupholders, underseat compartments, door pockets, glovebox, trays, boxes and hooks - you can keep everything out of the way but still close to hand.
