A safe place for all the family
The Mazda6 has always balanced sports-inspired handling with uncompromising levels of safety equipment. Already awarded the five-star maximum rating by the European New Car Assessment Programme* (Euro NCAP), our new model takes the principle further, with a range of cutting edge car safety features designed to let you really enjoy the drive.

The new Mazda6 is constructed around an improved body shell using high tensile steel with front and rear crumple zones either end of a rigid passenger safety cell. All models come fitted with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and 6 airbags as standard. Depending on the chosen grade, the Mazda6 is also available with the following safety features.
A standard feature, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) system helps prevent collision from the rear. When you brake heavily, it flashes the hazard warning lamps rapidly to the car behind, and switches to normal hazard warning once the car has slowed down almost to a standstill. Once the brakes are released, the hazard lights will switch off automatically.
Standard on every model, Smart Turn Function allows you to flash the turn-signal lamps three times, just by lightly tipping the turn signal lever. You don't even need to manually return the lever to its original position.
Sport and Z-Sport models of the new Mazda6 feature Hill Launch Assist (HLA) as standard. This makes hill starts extremely easy, by keeping the brake applied after you've lifted your foot from the brake pedal. When the engine produces enough torque to launch the car smoothly, the brake is released and away you go.
Fitted as standard on the Sport and Z-Sport models, Rear Vehicle Monitoring (RVM) effectively eliminates the blind spot with two radar sensors and an alert system.
Bi-Xenon headlights with an improved Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) are fitted on Z-Sport. This improves visibility around corners, by swivelling the front lights up to 15 degrees into the direction the new Mazda6 is turning.
