An empty or defective battery is the most common reason for a breakdown - so getting your battery right should be a priority.
Genuine batteries meet strict quality and safety standards and are exceptionally reliable. Even during winter when batteries suffer because of cold temperatures and humidity, a genuine battery will start first time.
Buying a battery
Although cheaper batteries are tempting, they can end up costing more over your car's lifetime, as you need to replace them more often. Your Mazda Dealer will supply you with a Genuine Battery, which is purposely built for your model and engine. They will also recycle your old batteries for you. If you have a new battery fitted into your Mazda, it carries a three-year warranty.
Extend the life of your battery
- Keep your battery dry and clean.
- When you stop your car, switch off the headlights, radio, heating and air conditioning.
- If you have a low-maintenance battery (with openings at the top), top up with distilled water from time to time. Please be careful and wear eye protection and gloves when working with your battery.
- If your car won't start, call your Mazda Europe Service centre. We will be there for you and make the necessary arrangements.
