- First quarter Mazda sales climb 45% outperforming the industry trend by almost 20%
- Mazda Motor Ireland’s 2014 market share grows from 1.7% to 2.0% in first three months
- ‘Mazda Choices’ flexible finance offers new cars from just €179 per month
The launch of the all-new Mazda3 this January and the introduction of a new generation model line-up over the last 18 months has certainly helped Mazda Ireland achieve a growth in sales of 45 per cent during the first three months of 2014 – compared to the same period in 2013.
“More and more Irish customers are coming to appreciate the attractive ownership proposition that Mazda’s product line-up now represents,” comments Tony Howarth, Managing Director, Mazda Motor Ireland. “The recent increase in consumer demand is a wonderful endorsement of Mazda’s ‘defy convention’ approach to automotive engineering, which has created award-winning vehicles that appeal equally to the heart and mind.”
“Mazda Motor Ireland’s sales so far this year are 45 per cent up on 2013, outperforming the overall market by almost 20 per cent and enabling us to claim a larger market share – up to 2.0 per cent from 1.7 per cent last year. Our total sales for the financial year ending 31 March 2014 were up 30 per cent as our Japanese brand’s latest-generation models, like the Mazda CX-5, Mazda6 and all‑new Mazda3 with their fuel-saving SKYACTIV technology and KODO-Soul of Motion styling, proved increasingly popular,” adds Howarth.
Reflecting that increased popularity, this year the all-new Mazda3, Mazda6 saloon and tourer, plus the Mazda CX-5 have been shortlisted for four categories of the Motorcheck – 2014 Fleet Car Awards. The multi-award winning Mazda3 is also among the three finalists for the coveted 2014 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) crown to be announced at the New York Motor Show on 16 April.
Last year, the Mazda6 was selected by members of the Irish Motoring Writers Association (IMWA) as the ‘Family Car of the Year’ during the Continental Irish Car of the Year Awards – adding to the 199 awards accumulated by the Mazda6 saloon and tourer globally, since launch.
Currently, Irish customers can drive away a brand new Mazda from €179 per month, thanks to the ‘Mazda Choices’ flexible finance programme, plus a deposit contribution from Mazda of €1,000 and a guaranteed future value for their new car.
